Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who needs a Personal Trainer?
Personal Training is for everyone from the first time exerciser to the experienced athlete. It is for anyone who would like to reach their fitness goals in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Q: What are the Personal Trainers’ qualifications?
Oakridge Personal Trainers have a minimum of one nationally recognized training certification. In addition, most trainers have college degrees and/or specializations in various health and fitness related fields.
Q: What will a Personal Trainer do for me?
A Personal Trainer will first help you set realistic and achievable goals. Then, based on your current fitness level, he or she will teach you how to reach those goals through exercise. In addition to learning safe and effective exercise techniques, you will also get the invaluable benefit of individualized motivation during your sessions.
Q: How long do I need to work with a Personal Trainer?
This depends greatly on your goals, experience, and self motivation. A minimum of eight sessions is recommended for new exercisers to learn correct posture, body alignment, and execution of the various exercises. Our twelve session and 24 session packages are perfect for those who need additional motivation and guidance. Try four sessions if you want a refresher course, and one session if you simply want to spice up your old routine. As you can see, we have a program to meet everyone’s needs.
Q: Can I train with a friend?
Yes, Oakridge offers semi-private training. These hour-long sessions are designed for two people that have the same training schedule. This is especially beneficial for spouses or friends that know they will be working out together. You will learn to maximize your workout time together.
